Chelsea to table £30m bid for Torres 0

Posted on July 09, 2010 by admin

According to todays Daily Star, Chelsea are set to open the bidding for the Liverpool striker Fernando Torres at a paltry £30m, which is only a few million more than the Reds paid for him three seasons ago.

It is a certainty that Liverpool won’t let their star striker leave for less than £50m so I am not sure if this is true or even in the slightest bit likely. It is like Barcelona offering Arsenal £30m for Cesc Fabregas!

A report in the Sun this morning says that Chelsea are lining up a bid for the impressive Dutch defender Gregory Van Der Wiel. He was earlier reported as a target for Arsenal, who are still looking to buy another defender, but the tabloid thinks that Chelsea and Bayern Munich are now the front-runners for the 22 year-old Ajax youngster.

I have just read this extremely amusing article in the Sun that says that Man City are going to bid £20m (Haha!) for the Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, and they think that Chelsea will be happy to let him go (Haha!) if Fernando Torres comes to Stamford Brisge.

Try and read it without laughing too much! They said: MANCHESTER CITY are lining up a £20million bid for Didier Drogba.

Did Chelsea buy Benayoun to look after Torres? 0

Chelsea brought in the Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun last week, and now it seems that he is very good friends with Fernando Torres, who Chelsea are also trying to persuade to move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Torres and Benayoun are former team-mates, and the young Spaniard believes that the Israeli international fits in perfectly with his style of play.

Agent – Torres to leave Liverpool, with Chelsea as favourites! 1

It seems that the appointment of Roy Hodgson has not been enough to keep Fernando Torres at Liverpool, and it looks like the debt-ridden club are preparing to cash in on their star player after the World Cup, and Chelsea are named by Sky Sports as the most likely buyers.

Gareth Bale – Tottenham need Joe Cole’s experience 0

Posted on July 02, 2010 by admin

The Tottenham defender Gareth Bale thinks that Joe Cole would bring some invaluable Champions League experience to the Spurs side as they prepare to play in Europe’s Premier competition next season.

Harry Redknapp has made no secret of the fact that he would love Cole to join him at White Hart Lane, and Bale backs him up completely.

Mesut Ozil keen on Chelsea move! 0

Posted on July 02, 2010 by admin

The German playmaker Mesut Ozil is very keen on following in Michael Ballack’s footprints by moving to Stamford Bridge.

His contract with Werder Bremen is entering the final year, and with no chance of him signing an extension, Bremen will have no choice but to sell him or risk him leaving on a free next summer.

It has been reported today that Chelsea have secured the signing today of the 17 year-old Czech Republic starlet, Tomas Kalas, from Sigma Olomou, but he has been variously reported as a centre-back or a goalkeeper!.

Chelsea transfer rumours June 17th – David Silva, Mesut Ozil, Sergio Ramos and Yaya Toure 5

Posted on June 17, 2010 by admin

Chelsea are being very secretive about their transfer dealings but that hasn’t stopped the papers linking the Blues with top class players from all over Europe. The latest name to be added to the list is the exciting young German international Mesut Ozil. He has made it clear that he is keen on a move by refusing to sign a new contract at Werder Bremen as it enters its final year, and the Daily Mail seems convinced that Chelsea will rival Man City in a bidding war starting at around £20m….
