Roberto Di Matteo does not seem too worried about Chelsea’s second defeat in a row, after the Blues lost 1-0 to AC Milan. The game was played at the home of the Miami Dolphins and the scorching temperatures meant that the game was played at a slower pace than would is normal. We should not worry too much, as pre-season is all about gaining match fitness and AC Milan are quality opponents.
“It is always better to win, it gives you a good feeling, so we are disappointed with the result but I thought there was a big improvement from Wednesday’s game.”
It did show, however, that Chelsea need to work on their final ball and their finishing. Torres came on for the last half hour, but did not get areal chance. Eden Hazard played the whole game and showed some great skill. Di Matteo tried him on the left flank and through the middle and the Belgian international looks good in both positions.
Petr Cech was unlucky to see his save rebound to Milan’s Urby Emmanuelson to allow the the Dutch international to grab the game’s only goal. All in all, Chelsea played okay, but know that there is work to be done.
