Chelsea is set to miss out on the signing of French player Paul Pogba, as he nears the completion of a PSG deal. The Juventus midfielder has been linked with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and the London-based club. The Blues had earlier planned to sell selecao duo Oscar and Ramires in order to land the 22 years old. But he won’t be at the Stamford Bridge next summer as Ligue One giants, Paris Saint Germain have reportedly agreed to a 58 million pounds deal with the Italian outfit.
The midfielder has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world, and has become one of the most-sought after. Even though both clubs have agreed on a deal, the player go yet to elsewhere despite reports of a personal term of £165,000 a week been agreed which to me seems way off the mark. There have been heavy speculations that PSG might be Pogba’s next port of duty, as he grew up in the French city and is fond of it, but the lanky midfielder hasn’t made any comments yet regarding the transfer. The player is taking his time to analyze his deal and weight other options that will definitely come his way when the transfer window finally opens in 2 months time.
Chelsea are moving to equip their team with formidable players against the next season campaign, and the midfield has been of constant concern to the team’s Coach. The likes of Mikel and Ramires haven’t had incredible performances this season, and Pogba seems like the ideal midfielder the team needs. Though they have done well on the local scene, and are 5 points away from securing the EPL title, they have done poorly at the continental level, with their best efforts in the Champions League last season a round of sixteen place. As the soon-to-be-crowned champions have lost out big on bringing the play maker to Stamford Bridge, they must shift their attention elsewhere in their quest of a midfielder.
