The Chelsea defender Ashley Cole is in top form at the moment, and is hoping to contribute to keeping Chelsea’s 100% start to the season today at Stoke.
He thinks the Potters are very hard to beat at home, but reckons the the Blues will come through in the end.
“You know Stoke will always fight to the end and give 100 per cent,” he said, “and last year they did cause us a little bit of trouble at home because our pitch is a little bit small.
“They do work hard for each other but hopefully sometimes that works against them and they will tire themselves out in the first-half. Then in the second-half we can pass the ball through them and score some goals.”
“They are renowned for their long throw-ins that go from every angle into the box and cause problems but we try to get the ball down and cut through their midfield and defence,”
‘We went there last year and won it that way and it will be a tough game again but we seem to nullify their long throws and didn’t really give them too many corners. The players are certainly very confident at the moment.”
Let’s hope that they are not overconfident, like last season!
