Efforts to strengthen the blues team towards next summer could be resulting in a seemingly overhaul of majority of the squad. Latest in the proposed addition by the Blues is French winger, 22 years old Florian Thauvin. The former Lillie player will cost Chelsea £25m. He was once a target back in 2010 after the winger helped France to win the under-20 world cup in Turkey in that year’s summer. His move did fall through and he ended in Marseille.
With Oscar and Willian’s future no longer guaranteed at the club and a possible sale of Mohamed Salah to Fiorentina. Florian Thauvin is definitely the ideal winger needed in Chelsea, and all efforts are in the pipeline to make his signing materialize. Currently, he is a key figure for the Ligue one outfits, and he has 5 goals and 7 assists in 34 games already. He is yet to be called to the French national side, but he has appeared ten times for the under-21 side with seven goals to his name.
Tottenham Hotspur and Valencia are also in the race to sign the winger. He has established himself as one of the most exciting young talents in Europe since making his professional debut in 2011. He has even been dubbed one of the great hopes of French football by French compatriot Wenger. Chelsea had at various times sent scouts to watch him play in the French league and they have all given satisfactory reports about him. Provided 25 million Euros tabled at Marseille, the wing prodigy will be in Stamford bridge come next season, and without mincing words, he will be a very worthy addition.
