If you believe Metro’s website, Chelsea will be making a shunning triple transfer swoop on European champions Real Madrid once the transfer window re-opens. According to the British media house, Jose Mourinho has mandated Roman Abramovich and Chelsea director of football Michael Emenalo to get him Real Madrid trio of Gareth Bale, Raphael Varane and Jese Rodriguez in a deal that will cost the club as much as £130million.
Jose Mourinho is a known fan of Raphael Varane and there has been reports that the Portugese will make attempts to sign Varane from Real Madrid once the transfer window. Gareth Bale has also been linked to Chelsea in the last few weeks with some reports claimign Chelsea will look to trigger a supposed release clause in the contract of the Welshman.
Also, yesterday Chelsea were linked to Jese Rodriguez. However, do Chelsea need any of these players and if they do do they have a chance? Varane is one player Chelsea needs. Though not desperately as John Terry who he is likely to replace still has about two active years in him. Both is one player that will be interesting to have at Chelsea but considering how prudent Chelsea has been in the transfer market lately ( due largely to the hindrance caused by FFP laws ), I do not see how Chelsea will make a move for a player that is likely to cost in excess of £150 million in both transfer fee and wages over the next five years.
Jese is the third player Metro claims Chelsea wants from Real Madrid. He is one that we surely need. Although he has not been a regular feature for Real Madrid this season, he is no doubt a very good player. With Diego Costa and Loic Remy constantly injured, Jese Rodriguez can do a job.
All in all, although Chelsea needs Jese Rodriguez and Raphael Varane and may have a good chance of getting both in the summer, I do not see Bale at Chelsea any time soon. Maybe if Hazard leaves but definitely not this summer.
