Today’s People is extremely confident that they have insider information on the projected transfer of Sergio Aguero to Chelsea, and say that it is now a done deal.
It seems, to get around the transfer ban, Chelsea will sign Aguero in January and then loan him back to Atletico for the rest of the season.
A similar deal was put forward this week for the Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson, and is a neat way of covering themselves in case the transfer ban is upheld.
They go on to say that Atletico originally wanted £45m for the young Argentinian superstar, but agreed to drop the price to secure the sale quickly.
With the agreement in place they report that Chelsea will now meet Aguero’s agents next week to thrash out personal terms.
I like the confidence behind the report, but it was only three days ago that the Atletico President Enrique Cerezo said: “Nobody has come to ask about Aguero. Nothing has been communicated to me. Not for 44 million euros or any amount. I am not considering selling him.”
Now i don’t know what to believe! But can there be this much smoke without fire?
