According to AS Sport, Chelsea may be going back to the Spanish league to sign another striker to supplement Diego Costa and Loic Remy. Judging by the injury woes that has betide both Loic Remy and Diego Costa and the fact that Didier Drogba is no longer the player he used to be, Jose Mourinho could do with another striker in the team.
According to Spanish paper AS Sport, Chelsea are set to bid for Real Madrid’s Jese Rodriguez. The high rated pro Real Madrid paper confirmed the Blues are ready to pay as much as €20 million (£15m) in order to sign the Madrid striker. Jose Mourinho is a known big fan of the player and according to AS Sport, Mourinho is convinced Jese can do a job for Chelsea.
Jese had a very good season last term. He scored for Real Madrid in key matches, including the beautiful goal he scored against arch rivals Barca in the el Clasico. However, his wonderful performance ended when he suffered a knee injury in a champions league clash against German Bundesliga side Schalke 04 in the second half of last season.
So far this season, he has played a total of 13 games for Real Madrid scoring only just twice ( not a figure that will delight Chelsea fans ) but his lack of game time can be attributed to the fact that he is just making a recovery from injury.
However, Chelsea will not be without competition for the player’s signature. According to earlier report, Arsenal are also monitoring the progress of the player just as Liverpool have also watched him and likely to reopen their interest in him in the summer.
