Luiz: Chelsea Form Due to Sarri’s Positive Encouragement

David Luiz has revealed the secret to Chelsea’s early success this season – Maurizio Sarri’s positive approach both as a head coach and as a person. The Blues have maintained an unbeaten start in the league, with the 1-1 stalemate against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge taking their record to five wins and two draws so far. But unlike before, these promising results have now been accompanied by performances deemed more attractive as Sarri has turned the Blues into an attacking, forward-thinking side.

The west London side has regularly dominated the opposition in the current campaign, which is a far cry from the more reactive approaches of former managers Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. Chelsea’s turnaround in fortunes has led bookmakers to install them as third-favourites for the Premier League crown, and they may make for a shrewd use of a bet365 bonus code, with odds of 10/1 – still a price with value in it. It has been largely perceived that this change in approach has seen many of the Blues players rise to superb form.

Eden Hazard has been the outstanding performer in the Premier League so far, Jorginho has quickly adapted to the pace of the English game, and the likes of Marcos Alonso, Mateo Kovacic and Pedro have risen to the occasion when called upon.

Another one is Luiz, who has excelled in the ball-playing centre-back role for the Blues so far this season. While last campaign saw the Brazilian relegated to the bench on most occasions, he has found his mojo once again under the former Napoli schemer.

And the 31-year-old, who has started in all of Chelsea’s seven league games this season, has recently revealed the reason the whole squad has been stepping up their game is Sarri’s ability to instil belief in the players and inject a jovial mood around the club.

“Sarri is giving us a lot of happiness to play football. We are trying to enjoy,” the centreback said in an interview posted on the club’s official website. “He gives us a lot of confidence. He shows us what he wants. He gives us the details about the game. He works hard in every situation. And also as a human, he’s a fantastic person.

“Every single day he says to us ‘you have the best job in the world, so you have to enjoy’. You have to try to do this with a big smile. Many people in the world don’t have this privilege.”
