The transfer window has always ends up being full of shocking and surprising transfers, rumours and speculation. The coming one also promises to be no different, and a deal looking to be one of such is Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling speculated Chelsea’s link. Both clubs have form a sort of healthy rivalry over the years after continuous meetings in finals and decisive matches over the years. So, transfer hardly comes up between both teams. But it seems Chelsea is set to break the jinx once again.
Although, Sterling’s contracts with the Merseysiders ends 2016, but the 20 years old is willing to leave the club and has turned down a new contract worth 100 thousand pounds per week. But the side’s handler, Brendan Rodgers has made it clear that even though the Jamaican-born starlet wishes to leave, he won’t be allowed to. The 42years old says,
“We’ve made our position clear from the beginning and the owners are very much supportive of that. Raheem won’t be going anywhere this
summer, even if there’s not a deal agreed”.
Chelsea coach is said to be interested in having Sterling play for his side as he is a huge fan of the England’s international. He has 7 league goals in 31 appearances this season, and has completed 97 take-ons, which happens to be the fourth highest in the season.
Raheem Sterling is reportedly worth 50 million pounds, and he seems desperate to leave Anfield as he has refused a second offer for contract renewal, put negotiations on hold and also willing to personally pay 1.7 million pounds in order to buy out the last year remaining on his deal. If he isn’t allowed to leave now, Liverpool would lose out on cashing out on him, as he will be leaving on a free transfer when his contract ends. Or they could be forced to sell him for a relatively cheap 25 million pounds. Chelsea could get him then too.
