The young Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero is now ready to leave the club that made him into a star, and has been discussing the relative merits of joining the three main contenders for his signature, Chelsea, Man City and Inter Milan, and he has come out clearly in favour of a move to Stamford Bridge.
“Chelsea are a great club. They have become one of the most feared in Europe over recent years,” he said.

Diego Forlan, who plays for Atletico Madrid at Stamford Bridge tomorrow night, had an awful time in the Premiership while playing for Man Utd, but doesn’t feel he has anything to prove to the English fans.
He has gone from strength to strength since leaving Old Trafford, and last year scored a massive 32 goals in 33 games, and thinks his confidence just took a knock while he was in England, but he would not be worried about returning to the Premiership.

Chelsea have arguably drawn the short straw of the English sides in the Champions League Group stages draw made this afternoon. The Blues were strongly linked with a move for Sergio Aguero all summer, but now it seems that the Argentinian will be at Stamford Bridge after all, but as an opponent. He will line up alongside the prolific ex-Man Utd attacker Diego Forlan and the pairing could cause chelsea problems when they are on form.

As if it wasn’t obvious anyway, after Sergio Aguero had played for Atletico Madrid in their Champions League Qualifier against Panathiniakos, the Argentinian star confirmed after the game that he was not going to leave Madrid and never wanted to in the first place.
The rumours have been flying about that Chelsea were close to making an agreement with his club, but that speculation will have to go back on hold until next summer now.

With the first round of Premiership games to talk about, the papers don’t seem to have so many made-up stories about possible transfers, but it seems that The Daily Mail are refusing to give up on Sergio Aguero completely. At least if he plays for Atletico Madrid on Wednesday against Panathiniakos we will know for sure that he will not be moving to London.
