The Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti was responsible for selling the young Gianfranco Zola to Chelsea when he was in charge at Parma, and he admits that it was a mistake looking back, as Zola became an absolute legend at Stamford Bridge.
“Probably I made a mistake with him because I wanted to play 4-4-2 and I put the players in the right positions but he wanted to stay in the centre like a striker,” Ancelotti admitted.

Eleven of Chelsea’s total of 13 conceded have been the result of defensive errors from set-pieces, and the Daily Express reports that Ancelotti has now reached the end of his tether and is planning to replace the legendary keeper.

The Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard thinks that Chelsea must not let themselves fall into the same trap as last season when they thought they were unbeatable.
“The big danger in any sport, particularly football, is that when things are going great you stop doing the things that got you there,” he said. “If we’re honest, we did that a bit last year.”

It was not a good night for Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, as he saw his team fail to win for the third time in a week against lowly Apoel Nicosia.
There were too excellent goals from Michael Essien and Didier Drogba, but Ancelotti was so annoyed with the Apoel’s second goal that he lost his temper. John Obi Mikel was passing a ball back to John Terry in defence, but his lack of concentration allowed Apoel to jump in and equalise.

The Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech thinks that Carlo Ancelotti’s penchant for rotating the squad on a weekly basis is now a necessary part of modern football, especially for big clubs that go far in all competitions.
Ancelotti made eight changes to the Carling Cup team that lost to Blackburn on penalties last week, and he is likely to do the same thing against Apoel Nicosia this week, with Chelsea already assured of finishing on top of their group.

Terry - Can he last another ten years?
The Chelsea captain John Terry says he is always looking to improve his game, and he thinks that Carlo Ancelotti can help him by telling him the secrets of Paolo Maldini’s success at AC Milan.
Maldini had an amazing career at Milan and last season still managed 30 appearances for the club, despite being 40 years-old. He played in an amazing 900 games for his club, and 126 times for Italy.
