The Chelsea and England U21 defender Michael Mancienne is asking Chelsea to allow him to join Wolverhampton Wanderers on a permanent basis after spending the most of the last two years on loan at the club.

Mancienne said: “I’ve been at Chelsea since I was a kid and I’d love to break into the first team, but it’s hard for any young player knowing how much quality they’ve got.

The Chelsea defender Michael Mancienne has eally enjoyed his loan period at Mick McCarthy’s Wolves team, and feels that he has grown up as he gained more Premiership experience.

Mick McCarthy – Mancienne is even better in midfield! 0

When Michael Mancienne went on loan to Wolves, he was playing regularly as a defender for the Chelsea reserves and the England U21 side, but Mick McCarthy decided to push him forward in front of the defenders, and he hasn’t regretted it one little bit.

“We knew he wasn’t just a big head-it-and-kick-it centre-half. He went and performed that midfield role he’s currently in, shoring it up for us at Tottenham to start with.” The Wolves manager said.

The Wolves manager Mick McCarthy is really pleased with his Chelsea loanee, Michael Mancienne. The England U21 international defender was struggling to get a game at star-studded Chelsea but has steadily improved since playing regularly at Molineaux.

McCarthy even asked Mancienne to move forward into the midfield to prove his versatility, and he hasn’t let him down.

I have just found this article from the Press association, which states that Chelsea are not even allowed to recall their players from loan agreements with other clubs, despite not being able to buy any replacements in the January transfer window.

The article said: FIFA have told Chelsea they cannot recall any players on season-long loans under the terms of their transfer ban.

Chelsea rumours Aug 13th – Mancienne, Matic (again!) and Anelka 0

Posted on August 13, 2009 by admin

Nemanja Matic is back in the frame to arrive at Chelsea as fourth choice striker, according to reports today. The player claimed about a month ago that he had already agreed to move to Chelsea, but his club denied knowing anything about the deal. It was rumoured to be £2.5m back then, but today the Mirror says it will be £4m. as agreed with his club Kosovice, but there is a possibility that Middlesbrough could hijack the deal and offer him first-team football. Personally i think he will be a good buy, but he must be given some chances to play, just as much as Daniel Sturridge.

Why the delay on Mancienne decision? 0

Posted on August 05, 2009 by admin

The Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is still waiting on Carlo Ancelotti to decide whether he is going to allow the England U21 defender Michael Mancienne to move to Molineaux for next season, but they seem to be leaving it until the last minute. Could it be that there is still a chance of Jose Bosingwa moving to Bayern Munich?

“He’s Chelsea’s player and it’s up to Chelsea what they do with him,” McCarthy told Sky Sports News.

Chelsea to swap Mancienne and Pizarro for Pirlo? Rubbish! 0

I don’t know where the Daily Mail dreams their stories up, but they just get wilder and wilder! Look at this one…..

Chelsea have been linked with an £8.6million move for AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo that would see Claudio Pizarro and England Under 21 defender Michael Mancienne go in the other direction.
