The Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti will soon have a headache if Joe Cole and Yuri Zhirkov come through unscathed after their first game of the season tonight against QPR.
Chelsea have had a flying start to the season with seven wins in a row, and now Carlo Ancelotti will have two more World class players available for selection.

Chelsea host Tottenham in which looks like their hardest fixture so far this season. The Blues have won five out of five this season, and have a great home record against the Lilywhites, but the games are always hard-fought, exciting games. I’ll never forget the 4-4 draw that we were all treated to the season before last.

The Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti is still worried about the injury to new signing Yuri Zhirkov, but is hoping that he will not need surgery. The winger was picked for the Russia national team but didn’t figure in either game over the international break.
‘At the moment we don’t think that he needs surgery,’ says Ancelotti.

Chelsea’s new £18m signing Yuri Zhirkov is yet to make his debut for the Blues, but has still been called up to Guus Hiddinck’s Russia squad for the World Cup Qualifiers.
He aggravated a knee injury in pre-season against AC Milan, and despite continually being told he will make his debut soon, the injury refuses to heal properly.

Frank Lampard equalled Jimmy Greaves record of goals scored for Chelsea the other night, but is more concerned about winning trophies with the Blues than getting personal accolades. He is now up to joint fifth with Greaves in the Chelsea records, and i am sure he will carry on climbing in the next few seasons.
He said today: “I’m delighted with that, Jimmy is a goalscoring legend and I’m sure he did it in a lot less games than I did.

I have found it very hard to take this move to buy Pirlo seriously, and think that there is absolutely no reason in the world for Chelsea to buy a 30-year-old midfielder, when we have an overabundance of even better players already at the club.

The Brazilian goal-scoring legend Zico, who now manages Yuri Zhirkov’s old team CSKA Moscow, has said that losing Zhirkov is as bad as Man Utd losing Ronaldo or AC Milan losing Kaka!
When it was decided that Zhirkov would become the most expensive Russian ever, Zico lamented that his team would find it hard to live without the wizard winger. He said: “Currently in football there is no player who is able to replace Zhirkov.
