Ancelotti declares confidence in Ross Turnbull after assured performance

After all the doubters in the press and those looking for a chink in our armour following Ancelotti fielding our third choice goalkeeper Ross Turnbull against West Ham it was refreshing to see him put in an assured performance and being rewarded with glowing praise from the gaffer,

Turnbull could not be blamed for Parkers stinging goal and while it would be more comforting to have an established keeper between the sticks there is something to be said for a playing a young keeper full of hunger and confidence.

Ancelotti also more or less confirmed that Turnbull will be in goal against Inter on Tuesday evening,

“He did well, he played with confidence and good personality and he is a good goalkeeper.

“I think he will be in goal on Tuesday, we have confidence in Turnbull.”

Those words from Ancelotti will also have a positive impact on the 25 year old, it must be a great feeling to have a manager as respected as Ancelotti praising you,

Overall the idea of having Turnbull in goal does not make me nervous and does not change my belief that we will beat Inter on Tuesday and progress to the quarter finals of the Champions League.
