Ancelotti – I was impressed by Tottenham and we need to pay attention!

The Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is aware that his team haven’t won the Premiership title yet, and believes that they will have to be at their best if they are going to take all three points against Tottenham tomorrow.

It’s not a formality,’ he said.

‘We have to fight again, above all tomorrow. I was very impressed with Tottenham’s performance against Arsenal.

‘They played very well. It’s a derby again and they are involved in the race for fourth place, so we have to pay attention.’

He thinks that Chelsea will have to put in a similar performance to the one that took them back to the top of the Premiership, when they beat Man Utd at Old Trafford: ‘We need the same mentality, the same philosophy,’ he said.

‘We want to put pressure on them immediately. I don’t know if it’s possible because Tottenham will want to do the same. But that is the right way to get a good result.’

‘Sometimes they have had very good performances like on Wednesday,’ he continued.

‘But three days before, they’d lost an unbelievable game against Portsmouth. With more consistency, they could be higher in the table and we have to assume we’ll be playing the best Spurs team.’

If Chelsea do maintain their form with a win tomorrow, they can just about be certain of the title. It is going to be a cracker of a game!
