Chelsea’s manager Andres Villas-Boas has admitted the club’s interest in transferring Bolton Wonderers’ central defender Gary Cahill in January, but also said that this transfer depends on the situation with the Brazilian centre-back Alex.
“We are aware of Gary’s contractual situation.
“He’s an interesting player for the club.”
“You know that we have taken a decision this season regarding the central defenders, regarding Alex.
“We haven’t decided yet what we are going to do with the Alex situation.
“We have to make the wisest decision, be it Alex, be it Cahill.”
Chelsea’s interest in the English international centre-back has been alive since last summer when Arsenal were also trying to sign the 26-year-old. Do you think he should join Chelsea?
