News is coming in today that Chelsea are very keen on signing the new Ghanaian superstar Dominic Adiyiah, who scored eight goals for the Ghana U20 side as they went on to win the competition by beating Brazil on penalties in the final.
He currently plays for Frederikstat in Norway, and it seems that Adiyiah’s agent is speaking to the club at the moment regarding a move to a big club. Any move to Stamford Bridge will depend, of course, on them being successful in their appeal against FIFA’s transfer ban.
It has already been reported in Ghana that Valencia, Paris St Germain, Sampdoria, Feyenoord have all launched bids to sign him, but Adiyiah is happy to leave all the negotiations to his agent.
“I am not thinking of where to go since my agent will handle that,” Adiyiah told Ghanasoccernet.com.
“Mine is to perform on the pitch and will be ready to play anywhere a good deal lands for me.
“I can’t say my next destination. I want to go to England, Spain or Italy. I’m a footballer and a professional so I want to play and make an impact.”
After winning the Golden Shoe for the best player at the U20 World Cup, Adiyiah said: Adiyiah said: “I’m not going to rest on it, I’m not going to sleep beside the medals or the awards. This is a challenge for me, so I have to work hard. I’m following in the footsteps of the likes of Messi, Saviola and Aguero and I want to emulate their careers – and I’ll work hard to do that. I’m preparing to get to the top.”
I think Chelsea will have to win their appeal, or else this young star will definitely be snapped up by someone next summer, and Frederikstat will probably make a very large profit!
