Chelsea target Fernando Torres!

A report this morning is suggesting that Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is planning a £60m raid on Liverpool for their superstriker Fernando Torres if the Reds fail to make the Champions League next season.

They say that Ancelotti is a great admirer of Torres, and since the West London club has not been able to come to an arrangement with Atletico Madrid for Sergio Aguero, he is now intending to look closer to home.

The Anfield boss Rafael Benitez has stated that if Torres is sold then he would leave the club, but if their slump continues much longer, Torres and other top stars at Liverpool will be considering their futures.

The 25 year-old cost £26m when he arrived from Atletico and Liverpool will be looking to at least double their investment if they let Torres go.

This story was written by someone at the Mirror called Steve Stammers (surely not a real name) and it looks to me like he had too many vodkas last night and tried to think up the most ridiculous rumour of the day.

I’m sure these so-called “journalists” have a little competition between themselves every Sunday, and if they do, then Steve wins this weeks prize!
