Chelsea want the FA Cup as much as the Champions League

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has left no one in any doubt how Chelsea will be approaching the FA Cup this weekend.

Ancelotti went as far as to compare the FA Cup to the Champions League in terms of importance saying

‘I know very well how important this competition is because one of the first things that the club said to me is that the FA Cup is not like the Italian Cup. In Italy the Cup is not so important. The club wants to win this competition like it wants to win the Premier League and the Champions League, we want to do our best.’

Quite a bold statement but in all honesty it is not set in reality as Ancelotti full well knows.

The FA Cup is nowhere as important as the League or Champions League but it is still refreshing from a Chelsea standpoint that the manager has publicly committed himself to taking the competition seriously.

No one can say that they were not warned.
