Chelsea are currently on tour preparing for the Barclays Asia Trophy, and you may think that the players would have had some time to adjust to their new surroundings, but Andre Villas-Boas was having none of that and put all 26 players through a tough training session.
As always Frank Lampard impressed with his tireless running and shooting from range, and when asked about his thoughts on Chelsea’s new manager he was very complimentary. “For the players, the fact that Andre is a young manager is pretty irrelevant. It is a nice freshness to train with a new style from last year, but what is important is the quality of the manager. You saw that when he was with Porto last year, and a lot of us are lucky that we have worked with him before. There is a nice continuity there as we know his ideas on the game.”
Nice words indeed from Lampard then. Perhaps he is worried about the possibility of Luka Modric or Scott Parker taking his place in the first team at Stamford Bridge, and was just showing his new manager what he is capable of.
