Good news are finally arriving from Chelsea’s camp, as club defender Gary Cahill has announced that his injury is healing nicely and that he’s going to be on the pitch in the Champions League Final against Bayern Munich.
The Blues have been in fantastic form in this European season, but without Terry, Ivanovic, Meireles and Ramires, the final won’t be easy by any means for the side which managed to stun title holders Barcelona and knock them out.
“I’m just happy that it’s healed quickly.” Cahill said. “We’ve worked really hard, all day, afternoons, and I’m fortunate enough to be back.
“Hopefully, I’ll be fit, I will be fit, and hopefully I’ll be out there if selected.”
“It was my first full session with the boys today after my injury, so it was nice to get back out there and get running around and kicking a ball about.
“There’s some work to be done in two or three days now leading up to the game for me to get back into it. If I need to do a little bit of other training, I’ll do that.
“But, touch wood, there’s no reaction from today and I felt fine out there.”
Cahill will have to be paired up with Luiz in order for Chelsea’s manager Di Matteo to have a chance to win the Champions League Final and hold off Bayern Munich’s very strong attacking force at their home ground.
