10 of the Chelsea’s Best Premier League Goals

Chelsea are one of the six clubs to have played all 25 seasons in the history of the Premier League.  Over the years the Blues have scored some stunning and dramatic goals.

Antonio Conte’s side have made an excellent recovery from their opening game by beating both Tottenham Hotspur and Everton, with many English Premier League predictions now suggesting Chelsea will win the 2017-18 Premier League.

Looking back over the previous 25 seasons, here are some of Chelsea’s best goals in the Premier League:

Gus Poyet vs Sunderland (4-0 7 August 1999)

Gus Poyet scored this stunning volley on the opening day of the 1999-2000 season in a 4-0 thrashing of Sunderland.  This was long before the Roman Abramovich era so the fifth-place finish for the Blues was a good effort this season.  Sunderland had Kevin Phillips firing in 30 goals for them and finished 7th.

Belletti vs Middlesbrough (5-0 18 October 2008)

Juliano Belletti didn’t score too many goals for Chelsea but this screamer in the 5-0 thrashing of Middlesbrough was certainly one to remember.  The Brazilian’s long-range effort made it 2-0 early in the second half before Chelsea ran riot on Boro.
