As it was with Nemanja Matic, as it just might be with Kevin De Bruyne. The winger who left Chelsea just a year ago for Wolfsburg has been linked to leaving the German side this summer and reports are indicating that he might be heading back to Stamford Bridge with a point to prove.
Joining Chelsea from Genk for just £6.7 million in 2012, he was sent on loan to Werder Bremen where he had 33 appearances. On his return to Chelsea though, he had limited play time and requested to leave, signing with Wolfsburg for £18 million in 2014. And he was phenomenal for Wolfsburg, scoring 16 goals and assisting with 27 assists which not only broke the Bundesliga record but also is the highest in Europe this season. This has sparked a race for his signature and his former club are definitely interested in getting their man back. And there is all likelihood that they will.
This comes as De Bruyne himself hasn’t denied wanting to leave. According to him, “If I leave, I have no preference where I go. In my head, it is 95% I won’t go to Russia or Italy. It is not my style of play. But England, Spain, France or the Bundesliga, yes. They are the best leagues. They are some very good teams. That appeals to me.”
As such he just might be headed to the premier champions where he once plied his trade and he knows that he will be welcomed definitely.
Mourinho, pls take time in selling out players, for you never know how good they might be until you sell them out. one example is Kelvin De Bruyne. pls keep Cuadrado and try him this season. infact wile sell Remy. you have players to sell. Bring back Kelvin
