£100m Reason Why Roman Abramovich Can’t Sack Jose Mourinho

roman-abramovich-pic-getty-126739292The implication of Chelsea’s poor start to the season may not just result to loses in terms of revenue and followership buy the club loses might amount up to £100 million, reports the Trelegraph.

Shockingly, Chelsea are three points off the relegation zone with 11 points from 12 games after seven defeats. And they are currently sitting in 16th position on the premier league log, 11 points adrift of top of the table.

Chelsea’s qualification for the Champions league is becoming unrealistic and their failure to so will amount to a deficit of £40 million for the Blues.  There are also reports that Mourinho extended his contract with the Blues during the summer.

A clause was inserted in the contract that would see Mourinho take home up to £10 million in the eventuality of his sack. To further dip the account of Chelsea would be the sign on fee for a new manager if Mourinho is sacked. All these culminate in loses for the club.

Despite Chelsea horrendous start, the board of Chelsea and Abramovich have voted in confidence for the Portuguese to continue. They might have pre-empted their loses and so the fear of sacking Mourinho.

However, Diego Simeone and Pep Guardiola are thought to be on the radar of Chelsea. it is highly unlikely that they will leave their job and position at the moment to join Chelsea. The summer seems more realistic.
