He, alongside James Rodriguez were the stars of the Colombian team at the world cup in Brazil, clubs all around Europe were ready to sign him once the winter transfer window opens, and when it finally did, Chelsea beat a host of others to his signature, but it doesn’t seem like it was worth it after all for the EPL champions, as he has failed to impress. Juan Cuadrado might just be on his way out of the Stamford bridge once the summer transfer window opens, or according to Barcelona’s script, wait till winter.

The 26 year-old has failed to break into Chelsea’s first team to the bewilderment of many, and the special one isn’t patient enough to give him the time needed as most players don’t often pick up immediately after having changed teams or leagues. He has only made 3 starts and 13 appearances for Chelsea following his 27 million pound-move from the Italian outfit that saw Salah go the other way.

Barcelona has expressed interests in him, like they earlier did during the world cup. With Alves set to leave, the Spanish Champions see Cuadrado as a replacement, even though he isn’t a right back. Barca won’t be able to make signings until January, but it seems they are keen on preparing the ground until then. It definitely looks like Cuadrado’s time at Stamford bridge will soon be over, earlier than imagined.
