The forward has been made to play a more accommodating role up front in order to allow Zlatan Ibrahimovic play the central forward position, a decision that still doesn’t go down well with him. He however scored most goals (18) for the club, with the last 10 coming in the last 7 league matches, and he also scored the winner in the Coupe de France final against Auxerre. His contributions to the side definitely came handy in handing them the league trophy, and they aren’t keen on letting him go soon. He has been offered a new contract, and next week’s meeting could take a new turn or make him seek for a better offer.
With both Chelsea and United interested in him, a move to the EPL could be imminent, as he is keen for Premier League football. He once claimed his football dream is to play for the Blues, and it is not known if that will come true soon. Drogba already called time on his 2nd stint with the club, and Chelsea wants to bring a striker to the Stamford bridge. Cavani remains in the array of targets listed, and he is also being wanted at Old Trafford after Falcao wasn’t offered a permanent contract. After 3 seasons and 2 consecutive league titles at Paris Saint-Germain, Cavani could opt to leave by summer, as the chances are high.
