Abramovich puts in improved bid for Neymar

It is being reported this morning that the Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is still very interested in signing the exciting young Brazilian star Neymar. It has been reported in the Sun that the Blues put in a bid of £19m for the 19 year-old Santos striker in January, but Abramovich has now increased the offer to £24m.

A Chelsea source was quoted as saying: “Roman is ready to get personally involved to clinch the signing of Neymar.

“He’s aiming to talk with him next month to prove how much he is wanted.”

Didier Drogba is expected to stay at Stamford Bridge as an impact sub while he works out his contract, but Chelsea are looking to bring in another young explosive partner for Torres in the Chelsea attack next season.

Neymar would certainly fit that bill if Chelsea’s bid succeeds……
