Abramovich Sanctions Move For £25m World Cup & UCL Winning Striker

Roman AbramovichBarcelona saw off their fierce title challenge with Real Madrid yesterday with a hard-fought win against Real Sociedad yesterday. The title leaders endured a tough first-half against the Moyes-led side and didn’t find a goal until the 51st minute. A goal against the same team they suffered their first league defeat to in the first leg definitely isn’t enough. Only a player rose to the occasion, and his goal was enough to send the Catalunya side 4 points clear on top.

Substitute, Pedro Rodriguez was the second goal scorer, a goal many say looks like the best goal of his career. Pedro might have lost his starting berth at Barca, but he is no doubt still a player with lot of strike power left in him. In pursuit of more soccer, the 27 year-old departs Spain, in search of a greener pasture, and let’s just say that Stamford bridge field is really green.

Mourinho is an admirer of the winger, and he is making plan to bring him to his side next summer. A 22 million-pound offer is currently being prepared for the signature of the Spanish international. Arsenal, Liverpool and Inter-Milan are also in the race to get Pedro.

The 50-time capped Spain international had earlier expressed his displeasure at being only a substitute at the team. He has only started 12 times in 33 league appearances.

“I am going through a difficult period, It is clear that I am having a tough time to find a place in the team at the moment. I have had few chances to play this season.

I will consider my options in the summer and will then talk with the club to discuss my future.”

His contract expires by ending of next season, but he might be in the Premier League by then, possibly Chelsea. There have been reports that Roman Abramovich has mandated the Chelsea deal makers to make a deal happen for the player who is rated £25 million.
