Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is eager for the Blues to sign Barcelona attacker Neymar, as claimed by Don Balon.
Neymar continues to be linked with a transfer away from the Nou Camp as talks over him penning a new deal with Luis Enrique’s side continue to linger. And Don Balon now claim Chelsea are one of the European heavyweights interested in luring the Brazilian away from the La Liga.
Manchester United were rumoured to be interested in signing the attacker in the summer as Louis van Gaal was looking to bring in a marquee signing, but Barca held on to their prized asset.
The Spanish source says Abramovich is keen to get a deal done and that if he gets close to signing Neymar, he is prepared to pay an astronomical fee for the Selecao attacker.
Also, there are claims the Blues have made an initial contact with Neymar’s representatives and are eagerly waiting to see how the player’s situation unfolds at Barcelona.
Neymar has shone brightly for the Catalan giants in Lionel Messi’s absence, with the four-time World Footballer of the Year missing the past five games due to injury. Neymar has scored an impressive 11 goals in 10 La Liga appearances – the highest by any player in the division.
The Brazilian will be looking to help Barcelona secure a vital El Classico victory against Real Madrid on Saturday.
