AC Milan Star Is Latest Chelsea Target

Andre Villas-Boas has failed in all of his attempts to land the big name signings that Chelsea fans crave this summer, but that could all be about to change as he is lining up a bid for AC Milan star Alexandre Pato.

This is not the first time that Chelsea have been linked with the Brazilian Pato, because Carlo Ancelotti was keen on bringing him to Stamford Bridge during his two year reign as manager, but he was never able to tempt AC into selling.

It is thought that Pato would be available for a fee of around £30million, but Chelsea are preparing a bid of around £20million plus one of Nicolas Anelka or Salomon Kalou, according to reports in today’s Daily Mirror.

That offer may still not be enough to tempt AC Milan to sell one of their most prized assets, who averages a goal every other game in his career with the Italian club. With less than two weeks to go until the start of the new season time is running out as AVB steps up his search for the quality players he so desperately wants, and needs, to add to his ageing squad.
