Alex Teixeira To Become A Chelsea Player This Week, Medical Scheduled

Shakhtar Donetsk forward, Alex Teixeira has verbally agreed to seal a deal with Chelsea football club come January. The Brazilian international has continually been linked to a move away from Shakhtar following impressive performances so far this season.

Teixeira has scored a jaw-dropping haul of 26 goals from 26 games this season attracting interest from various quarters. It is reported that Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are also keen on the player. However, Chelsea has beaten off competition from both clubs and have succeeded in getting the player to verbally commit himself to signing for the Blues in January.

According to the Express, the player now seems destined for the Premier league, specifically with the defending champions where he can help them secure a top four finish, if their title defence is already a forgone conclusion. Chelsea are believed to be in advanced talks with Shakhtar Donetsk and the deal can be wrapped up sooner than later. The deal is suggested to be worth around £30m.

Chelsea have been struggling in front of goal this season, netting just 18 Premier league goals from 17 games, while they have conceded 26. Diego Costa, Radamel Falcao, Oscar, Hazard, Fabregas, to mention a few are all culpable for this shortcoming. This leaves them in a precarious situation where they are just three points above the relegation zone with their next game against in-form Watford

Given his exploits so far this season, Teixeira will be worth the bargain and provide upliftment when it is most needed.
