Arsenal are strong favorites to sign out of favor goalkeeper Petr Cech who seems set to leave Chelsea at the end of the season. The 33 year old who has one more year left on his contract is looking for a way out of Chelsea after being sidelined to the bench by young and rising star Thibaut Courtois. Cech will feel undone being benched in a team where he has been their first choice goalkeeper since his arrival at the club in 2004. Clubs like Arsenal, PSG and Manchester United also feel a goalkeeper like Petr Cech should be a first choice goalkeeper and not a back-up.
That is why there is an uphill battle between the top clubs in Europe for the 33 year old signature. However, it seems Arsenal is in the pole position to sign Petr Cech who is valued at £10 million. It is reported that Arsenal have opened talks with Chelsea over a proposed move that will see the Czech goalkeeper end up at the Emirates next season. Also a move to a team also in London will favor the 33 year old who wouldn’t have to move away from a place where he and his family are already settled. The only thing that might hinder the proposed move will be due to the bad
blood between Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger.
Both Coaches have been throwing subliminal messages at each other throughout the season and even had a stand off
earlier in the season when Chelsea faced Arsenal. This could work in favor of United who will be delighted to have a talented goalkeeper like Petr Cech as a replacement for David De Gea. At the moment there is no better choice of goalkeeper that United can sign that is better than Petr Cech.
The 3 time golden glove winner has been already self-proven in the league and has loads of experience under his belt. Goalkeepers get better with age and at 33 years the Czech International can only get better. A £10 million fee should not be hard for United to cough up for the 33 year old and should do anything at all cost to beat Arsenal to the signing of Petr Cech.
