Mauro Icardi joined Italian giants, Inter Milan during the summer transfer window 2 seasons ago, and although he ended up as Serie A highest goal scorer with Juventus Carlos Tevez, but his 20 goals weren’t enough to fire the side to any of the continental competitions qualifying spots. A disappointing outing for the San Siro side, but a great season for the 22 year-old Argentine as he became the toast of many top European clubs.

He expressed his desires to leave as the season drew to a close, and contracts talks stalled. The Argentina international was linked to Chelsea, and of recent Real Madrid after his wife cum agent said talks were ongoing. But there seems to have been a change in direction, as a new deal is said to have been agreed with Inter. Pen will be put to paper next month on a deal that will be worth 2.1 million pounds per year, as Roberto Mancini is keen on keeping his best asset for some time.

With that deal out of the way, Chelsea will have to tick him off their transfer target, as the youngster – who is one of hottest revelation this season and has gone ahead to score 33 goals in 69 appearances ever since his debut – won’t be at the Stamford bridge next season. On to the next one Blues.
