If reports in the media today and yesterday is anything to go by, Chelsea are increasingly close to completing the signing of Antoine Griezmann. The blues are reportedly ready to spend enough cash and are ready to use Filipe Luis as a sweetner that will enable them sign the high rated Frenchman.

Griezmann who joined Atletico last summer has been one of their arrowheads having scored a total of 22 games in the 34 La liga games he has played for Atletic so far this season. His wonderful perform has seen him linked to not just Chelsea but as well as Liverpool and Arsenal.

Chelsea were reportedly ready to activate the player’s release clause but Atletico has made it clear that the only way a deal can be done is if Chelsea includes Filipe Luis which was just only last summer sold to Chelsea by Atletico for a reported fee of £15.8 million.

Atletic’s president Enrique Cerezo was quoted to have said; “The return of Filipe Luis? He’s a fantastic player, for me he is one of the best fullbacks in the world.”
