Chelsea have had a calamitous start to the season – they are currently wallowing in 15th position on the Premier League log, losing seven out of their 13 league games.
They have been tipped to be one of the most bullish clubs in the on-coming winter transfer market and surprisingly, Wesley Sneijder has emerged as one of the transfer prime targets for the Jose Mourinho led side, per the Metro.
While at Inter Milan, the 31-year-old midfield maestro was a key figure that fired the San Siro giant to a treble and he did it under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho. The report stated that Mourinho is looking to re-unite with the playmaker and is willing to meet his €18.5 million asking price.
While with Inter Milan, the Galatasaray playmaker scored 22 goals in 116 appearances and an impressive 26 assists. He has been tipped to make an instant impact for Chelsea.
Mourinho has reportedly asked Abramovich to sanction the sale of several players and in the same vein the signing of several star playmakers. It is believed that Sneijder plays to the tune and dictates of Mourinho and can still add value to Chelsea.
There is no telling whose place in midfield he would take but Fabregas would need to step up his game as they play in similar position.
