Chelsea are interested in signing Monaco midfielder Bernado Silva though they face stiff competition for his signature from Serie A giants Juventus says tuttosport.
According to the reports from tuttosport, the midfielder could be acquired for a fee in the region of €29 million (£21 million). Whatever the case is Mourinho will look to his relationship with the Portugal international so as to increase Chelsea’s chances of securing a move for the no 10, should Monaco look to sell him.
Silva joined Benfica academy in 2002, breaking into the first team in 2013-2014 season, making 10 premier liga appearances during that campaign, which became the only number of games he played for the Portuguese club as he moved to Monaco the following season. He has made 48 appearances for the ligue 1 side, scoring 12 goals in the process.
Chelsea who are having the worst time in their history, after a woeful start to the season have looked to the Portugal star to solve their midfield crisis as the original indomitable pair of Nemanja Matic and Cesc fabregas have not lived up to the standards they set for themselves the season before, a season that saw Chelsea lift the premier league crown and carling cup.
Chelsea have other options in holding midfield positions with the likes of Ramirez, John Obi Mikel and Ruben Loftus Cheek have stepped up a times this season, but the midfield seem to have lost their way, that is why Chelsea have to look elsewhere to strengthen their midfield.
