The Blues have been told to pay €40million in other to acquire the prolific goal poacher. Texeira plays from the midfield but has scored 25 goals in 26 games for the Ukraine outfit this term.
Last month, Texeira revealed his admiration for Chelsea and also hinted on his desire to play for under Jose Mourinho. However, Chelsea have now been told this valuation by the manager of Shakhtar who said:
“Alex is now worth more than 40 million. I think at the end of the season – were [he] to continue with this performance – his value is 50 million euro. If [he] were playing in a league more competitive, [his] transfer would be at the same level as that of Di Maria.”
But Chelsea are understood to be in the want of a January move for the uncapped Brazilian. From the manager’s submission, they will be willing to let him off their radar until the summer of next year.
Chelsea will be left with no choice than to root for the signature of other players if they fail to sign Texeira. They have reportedly lined up Saido Berahino, Harry Kane and Jonathan Calleri as possible signings for next season.
