Jose Mourinho is hoping to scupper Carlo Ancelotti´s plan to sign Chelsea’s Ashley Cole when his contract runs out this coming summer, by making a bid for The England left-back in January.
Jose´s current first choice left-back, Marcelo, is currently out injured until at least January, and with reports suggesting Cole is only being offered a 12-month contract at the blues, Jose is looking to take advantage of Chelsea´s contract stance.
England´s 99 cap full-back took to Twitter on Friday to say ‘Just want to take a moment to thank you all for your endless support. Couldn’t have made it this far without you and I sincerely appreciate it.’
This has put Chelsea fans on alert as no Chelsea fan could imagine losing their veteran left-back, seen as the best in the world, and his message of thanks, leads us to believe he may be looking to move on.
With Ryan Bertrand in the squad, Chelsea wont be left without a first-team left-back in the squad if Cole were to leave, but Bertrand will not have such an influence in the team, and has a long way to go to prove he can be as consistent as his predecessor, for club and country.
With this new contract policy of not offering over 30´s a 2-year-plus contract, I hope exceptions can be made, with the prospect of losing Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole in one season a thought I would rather not have, as their influence and experience in the team second to none.
If chelsea looses ashly cole it will be a great pain 2 all chelsea fans they suppose 2 grant him demand becus he position is evy important
