The Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti was more than pleased that his team bounced back from a couple of bad games to take all three points against Liverpool.
He was asked after the game if he thought there was more pressure after the loss to Wigan. He replied: “In Italy we usually say: ‘It’s the same the world over.’ It was not pressure,”
“We lost one game and played badly for a second match, but we worked hard to find the problem. After this match, we’ve shown we’ve resolved our problem. It was not a big problem.”
He was then asked if the victory was even sweeter as Man Utd dropped points against Sunderland, meaning that Chelsea move two points clear of the reigning champs.
“Their result was a surprise, for sure, but we wanted to stay concentrated on our own season, not the others,” Ancelotti said. “This season depends only on us. We’re top of the table and we prepare for the next games with concentration and determination. Our season depends upon us. It was an important victory, for sure. It was three points against a very good team, and I’m happy.”
