The Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti realises that his first team is missing some of their most important players for tomorrows match against Newcastle, but with Michael Essien returning from suspension, and Terry and Lampard close to recovery, he will be more than happy to see all three return to action next weekend.
“Bosingwa is fit and is able to play. Not able to play are Terry, Lampard, Essien is suspended and Zhirkov will be able next week,” Ancelotti said in the pre-match conference.
“Lampard needs to have next week, I think, and will start to train all the time with the squad. This week he had an easy week.
“John Terry, the last days his pain has gone down, and I think he will be able to play next weekend. The other players are in good condition.
“Terry is an important player, as is Lampard and Essien, but it is not the time now to speak about the missing players.
If Chelsea can survive this week and gain all three points, then from next week hopefully we can start firing on all cylinders again…..
