Chelsea face Blackpool this afternoon and Carlo Ancelotti will be reinstating Didier Drogba after he missed the midweek game at Zilina through suspension. His replacement, the 21 year-old Daniel Sturridge got a rare start for the Blues and will be very happy that he managed to score in the Champions League, but Carlo Anceotti believes that he he can play much better.
“He (Sturridge) played an important game on Wednesday and scored,” Ancelotti said. “It’s not important for me if he’s playing in the Champions League or the Premier.
“He’s a Chelsea player with good quality. He could do better. I expected more of him on Wednesday and he knows this.
“He has fantastic ability, and I’d like to see these skills and ability more in a game. He scored with fantastic movement, but we need to see more of that.”
He will certainly have to improve if he is ever going to dislodge Drogba or Anelka from the Chelsea starting line-up….
