Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas was a relieved man yesterday after he saw his side come from behind to record their 11th straight win in the Premier League against West Bromwich Albion.
Speaking after the game AVB said, “It was a difficult game. The first goal was very early and the crowd became anxious and that passed onto the pitch.”
Asked about what changed in the second half AVB replied, “Their mental attitude for the second half was good. There was a sense of realising the space and better options without being anxious like they were in the first half. It goes down to them. We had to remove the anxiety and be mentally tranquil. The players were able to free themselves from that and work at their best.”
So two games played and four points gained. The start may not be the same as last seasons, but none the less it is a good solid start and one that Chelsea can build on in the coming weeks.
