When a football deal that includes a transfer seems to be heading for the rocks, there is just one man needed to be called to step in. Jorge Mendes. The Portuguese has made deals that were deemed impossible possible. From C.Ronaldo, Radamel Falcao, Di Maria, Diego Costa to James Rodríguez, this  super agent specializes in brokering big-time deals. And the adjudged most powerful man in football has been called up once again to do what he does best. One of his many clients, Jose Mourinho has now involved him in the Griezmann’s transfer that is looking seemingly difficult as the days go by.

Mendes is in the best of terms with the CEO of Atletico Madrid, Miguel Ángel Gil Marin. Hence, the negotiations involving the Frenchman’s transfer should be entering its final phases any moment from now. Griezmann had earlier stated he would consider a move to the EPL winners if they take things “serious”. It doesn’t get more serious that Jorge Mendes’ involvement. Diego Simeone isn’t keen on letting his star striker, who has banged in 22 goals in the La Liga so far go. The Roji blancos have slammed a buyout clause of 43 million pounds on the 24 year-old following his impressive displays just in his debut season at the Vicente Calderon.

Chelsea do not want to pay such amount, as financial fair play comes into play. The pensioners are looking at offering Atletico 35 million pounds and using their former leftback, Filipe Luis as makeweight for the services of the France international. Atletico don’t want to release him for such fees, and with the forward having formed a relationship with Simeone, it becomes harder.

Mourinho wants a boost in his forward line, and he sees the addition of Antoine, whose earlier buyout clause was 24 million pounds prior to contract renegotiations, as a great addition to the Blues lineup. With the super agent now involved, a deal could just be reached in the coming days, and Griezmann will land at the Stamford bridge next season. It is possible, it is Jorge Mendes.
