AVB In Quit Shock

Yes that’s right Andre Villas-Boas has shocked the footballing world by announcing he is set to quit Chelsea.

Fear not Chelsea fans he was only joking. AVB has been speaking to the press ahead of the game against Stoke City at the weekend and when asked about his sides chances this season he said, “If I win all four trophies I will retire.”

A quick thinking journalist was quick to point out that Porto won four trophies last season and he did not retire and AVB replied, “No, but I thought about it!”

On a more serious note he was quick to add, “I won’t be satisfied if we don’t win the Premier League. We look for excellence and look to win back the title that escaped us last season. We’ll do everything in our power to win it back. The domestic title is always the priority.”

He also gave his thoughts about this seasons Champions League and he was quick to point out the importance of a kind draw. He said, “Chelsea have been in the latter stages, we’re there threatening to challenge and we’re not that far away. But it depends so much on the draw, in the group phase and the knock-out phases. There has been a pattern in the last four years, I know, but that luck is needed still in the Champions League.”

It is good to see that Andre Villas-Boas has a sense of humour, and he will need it in what he hopes will be a long season.
