Ballack dismisses Mourinho hype as history

Michael Ballack always a pragmatic person has dismissed the hype surrounding Jose Mourinho return to Stamford Bridge and underlined the difference between Mourinho and current boss Ancelotti.

Ballack understands why Mourinho is so popular still but made a point of pointing out that we have not won the Champions League to date but have a coach that has won it twice saying

“You can only make history if you win something. Jose won two League titles, of course, that is why he is so popular here.

“But that is history and now we have a new coach, with new players as well.

“This competition is the one we couldn’t win until now. So that is why we are so hungry.”

He added: “It’s a big plus because we have an experienced side but most of the players have not won the Champions League.

“But our coach has won it twice, that’s why we look up to him and that’s why we listen to him.”

Fair comment but in all fairness Mourinho has won the Champions League with a team not regarded as good as what AC Milan are but I get what Ballack is saying.

We have a world class coach, no point harping on about the past, we must look forward and make sure that we consign Mourinho and his Inter outfit to the Champions League rubbish bin.

It is our year and the only thoughts about Mourinho are that he stands in our way.
