Big Changes Coming – Guus Hiddink Ready To Kick Out Diego Costa & Announce 1st signing – Drastic Turn Around Imminent
According to The Sunday people paper, Chelsea are ready to lunch a shock bid for Liverpool’s Christian Benteke. It is reported that former blues boss Jose Mourinho tried and failed to sign the Belgium international in the summer as he (Benteke), opted to join Liverpool in a deal reportedly worth 32.5million pounds.
Following Jose Mourinho’s departure for the second time as Chelsea manager, Chelsea owner roman abramovich still wants to lure the striker to Stamford Bridge. It is speculated that abramovich is prepared to lunch a massive bid for Christian Benteke in the January transfer.
The Belgium internationals progress as a Liverpool player has been hampered by injuries, he has been restricted to just 13 appearance’s scoring just for goals in the process.
4 goals in 13 appearances isn’t a bad turnout for a striker who has been in and out of injury, but it has to be said, the turnout is poor for a striker of his quality considering his goal per game ratio in Aston Villa. His inability to adjust quickly to Klopp’s system has made him drop to the bench in recent weeks. For example He was dropped for the Watford game and several other games before.
If his situation continues benteke might have to look for game time outside as Klopp could be tempted to sell him if the right offer is made.
The German tactician recently accepted that Benteke is finding it difficult to adjust to Liverpool’s style of play. “There’s a difference between the way we play and Aston Villa play”, he (Klopp) said ”if as a striker you don’t feel confident in the game because you aren’t getting enough crosses then you have to move more. As a striker, you want to play five, six games in a row. At Villa when he was fit he played-but everything is different” he concluded.
