Breaking News – Another Chelsea Star Suffers Injury, To Undergo Scan

Chelsea have suffered several injury blows to key players recently. Chelsea has been denied the services of Diego Costa and Loic Remy in key matches recently. However, it is not only the first team that is been affected by injuries, even on loan players are suffering the same.

Chelsea on loan striker Patrick Bamford who is currently the championship highest goal scorer with 17 goals has revealed he has an ankle injury and will under go a scan to ascertain the level of the injury.

According to reports, the English man picked up the injury in Middlesbrough’s 1-0 win over Norwich City on Friday. The injury forced manager Aitor Karanka to sub off Bamford on the 85 minute of the match and replaced him with Enrique García Martínez, popularly known as Kike in the 85th minute.

Talking to Middlesbrough’s official website, Bamford revealed the club still do not know the extent of the injury;

“I’ve got a scan on Monday and it’s a bit sore but I’ll try and play on,” said Bamford.

“It was massive win for us at Norwich on Friday. It wasn’t our best game of the season, but we have the best defensive record and you saw why.

“We were brilliant…Gibbo (Ben Gibson), Dani Ayala and Fernando (Amorebieta), who came on at the end, were rocks at the back.”

Bamford who has recently been crowned the Skybet championship player of the year is reportedly set to hold contractual talks with Chelsea in weeks. According to the reports, the striker’s contract expires in just over a year from now.

Many Chelsea fans are hoping Jose Mourinho will retain the striker next season rather than send him on another loan spell. With Diego Costa and Loic Remy’s constant romance with injuries, a goal poacher like Patrick Bamford will be handy for Chelsea next season.

Bamford’s Middlesbrough are currently joint second on the table with 84 points just one point behind run away leaders AFC Bournemouth.
