Earlier this morning, we reported a news by Spanish media outlet AS Sport that says Chelsea are very keen in signing Atletico Madrid’s Koke. In the report, AS claim although Chelsea are very keen on signing the high rated star who has also been linked to Manchester United and Manchester City, Atletico will ignore any approaches for Koke and any of their big names.
The paper went on to say Chelsea however have a chance of signing the player if they are willing to involve in the deal Luis Filipe who only just last season was bought by Chelsea in a deal said to be worth £15.8 million.
New development by the same paper claim Chelsea have now sent Michael Emenalo to Spain to try to finalise a deal with the Spanish club. According to the paper’s website, Michael Emenalo has been mandated by the club to complete a deal in the region of £45 million.
Although as a Chelsea, Koke is a player you would want at your club, I however do not see how Chelsea will sanction a deal of £45 million for him. Not taking anything away from the Spaniard, he is definitely a good player but surely not one who is worth reported £45 million. However, it should be noted that Diego Costa was reportedly available for £50 million last summer but Chelsea ended up paying for £32 million to sign him from the same Atletico Madrid.
