Breaking News – Chelsea REACHES Agreement To Sign Falcao, All Done & Dusted

As it grew more likely in the past few days that Radamel Falcao was Chelsea-bound, it didn’t look like the deal will fall through. And all things being equal, the Colombia international is now a Chelsea player, even though the club hasn’t officially reported it, as it seems few papers works are still left to be done. The EPL winners are set to make a signing of 25 million pounds on the former Monaco-loanee before he departs for the Copa America. His wishes came true sort of.

His wages haven’t been specified yet, but obviously he has taken a pay cut, and it can’t be denied that Jorge Mendes had a hand in the success of the move. At 29, Chelsea finally get him, after initially making plans some 3 seasons ago. It can’t be ascertained how many years is going to be on his contract, but it’s most likely to be just a 1-season deal. His desperations to remain in the EPL finally paid off, following Manchester United’s refusal to make his loan permanent. 4 goals in a season for a player who once scored 4 against Chelsea in a finals definitely is below par. Now that he is at the Stamford bridge however, it can only be hoped that the once-a-prolific player would pick up great form again, and prove himself in the EPL.

Falcao has had a great dip in form following an injury he picked up in his first season at France, and although it happened months before the world cup, he couldn’t recover on time to make it to Brazil. He has not been the same since then, but a lack of playing time at the Old Trafford didn’t help matters either. But with Costa’s fitness still in doubt, it seems Falcao will be afforded more playing time next season, and the Chelsea management will hope he is able to prove himself as a worthy management. Mourinho will definitely look for a way to wake his sleeping giant up.
